Our founding principles are to deliver community led, uniquely designed, high quality homes that surpass the needs and desires of our residents. This requires a new way of building – one that works for us now, for our communities, for the environment, and for the people that come after us. This is what we call regenerative development.
There is a reason we say we are building neighbourhoods, not just houses. We are responsible for the way our homes interact with each other and the local surroundings. We are building communities.
Some of the proposed public features of our neighbourhoods include edible landscapes, town greens for markets and fairs, play spaces and re-use centres. We are always mindful to provide spaces that compliment and enrich those already in existence. We know new spaces will only be successful if the new and existing residents feel a sense of stewardship and pride in them.
Once our neighbourhoods are built, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with the community and remain a stakeholder in the management of our sites, alongside residents. Through this continual engagement we are able to react to changing community demand and needs and ensure our public spaces remain relevant, useful and appreciated.
We think holistically.
We think about the whole system from beginning to end. We carefully consider every decision we make – for the resident, the community and the environment.
We build as a collective.
Building communities for the better is a cooperative effort that includes the local community, authorities and all of our suppliers and partners. We constantly look outward, seeking out and investing in the best partners and suppliers to make our vision a reality.
We continually raise the benchmark.
We see the standards set by the construction industry as a bare minimum. We don’t believe any existing framework goes far enough for people or for the planet. Our planet-positive framework sets the new benchmark for the industry to follow, to create homes that are both high quality and regenerative.
